Overview

Our client is looking for an experienced MA to work at their downtown Indianapolis location. This is a contract-to-hire role.

 

Pay rate - $13-15/hr based on experience

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position is responsible for escorting patients to appropriate areas of the clinical office, obtaining vital information for patient’s medical record, and assisting provider as requested. This position is crucial in maintaining optimal patient flow from the front desk to the exam rooms. They will support the front desk when needed.

  • Deliver patient and chart/information to patient care areas.
  • Obtain vital signs & verify/complete case information.  
  • Notify provider of patient readiness for appointment or procedures.
  • Assist provider with medical supplies or equipment needs.
  • Instruct patient in use of durable medical equipment.
  • Complete room turn over procedures after each patient & weekly sanitation of exam rooms.
  • Monitor, update supply list and stock clinical office supplies.
  • Assist provider with patient care when appropriate.
  • Assist/back-up Front Desk Patient Advocate and Medical Information Specialists as needed.
  • Check In patients and collect co-pays.
  • Charge/payment data entry.
  • Daily balancing of payment log.
  • All encounters are to be monitored and recorded.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or equivalent. At least 1-2 years of Medical Assisting Experience and/or Certified as a Medical Assistant

  • Excellent Customer Service Skills & presentation
  • Ability to accurately obtain patient vitals & assist physician in patient care
  • Knowledge of OSHA standards and cleaning procedures
  • Ability to work with physicians and providers
  • Good math skills
  • Good computer, communication & language skills
  • Strong attention to detail 
  • Excellent work habits
  • Must be extremely flexible and ability to work in fast paced high stress environment
  • Must be able to work independently and without direct supervision.
