Assists with the coordinating the work activities within the sections such as preparing correspondence, maintaining documents files, etc.
Operates office machines related to specific area of work, such automated mail opening equipment, assisted mail opening equipment, high speed transports for deposit of checks, bar code scanners, computers both word and the host systems utilized for various tax types. Also must be able to operate an adding machine, microfiche equipment, copiers, etc. May also operate dock and document destruction equipment.
Receives both corporate and individual tax returns and prepares them for the scanning process. The doc prep section is a multi step process. The individual must identify which type of return was received and then follow the instructions for preparing that type of return precisely. All documents must have the staples removed and be placed in order identifying which documents should be located before the correspondence sheet and in which order. The documents must all be reviewed to determine the order and whether the barcode on each page is readable for the scanning process. The individual must recognize the necessary forms for processing and identify which documents are extras or not necessary for processing and place them aside to be shredded.
The individual will be required to follow these processes and meet the standards of speed while maintain an acceptable error rate.
