    Knowledge Services is seeking a Legal Assistant in Nashville TN.

    Responsibilities

    • Drafting all pleadings relating to a medical services appeal - 80%
    • Outreach to Members and Providers relating to needed information for medical services appeals - 20%
    • Prepare notices of hearing for a high volume of TennCare Medical Services appeals; drafts case pleadings to include parties and jurisdictions, facts, laws, hearing rights, witnesses, certificates of service, and attachments; making changes as recommended by the assigned attorney and mailing documents to all parties identified. 
    • Will file notices of hearing with the Administrative Procedures Division (APD) in the Secretary of State’s Office in accordance with the timeline defined by Federal Law. 
    • Will also draft affidavits and any other relevant documents as directed by the hearing attorney; ensure that the appeal file contains acceptable proof of service and affidavits in prepartion for the hearing date; research and gather information that would enable TennCare attorneys to prepare for, or avoid litigation; identify case information needed, including documents generated by TennCare, Managed Care Contractors (MCCs), enrollees, enrollee providers, witnesses, and hearing exhibits based upon case type; contact enrollees to verify the issue of the appeal, the enrollee's telephone number and physical address, subsequently documenting all pertinent case information into ProLaw for appeal tracking purposes.

    M-F 8-4:30

    Pay $21/hr

    Qualifications

    •  Must have Legal Assistant Experience.

     

    Physical Requirements:

    • Job frequently requires sitting, handling objects with hands.
    • Job occasionally requires standing, walking, reaching, talking, hearing, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
    • Vision requirements:  Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
