    Long-term opportunity for Linux Adminsitrator with the State of TN in Nashville, TN!  Although not a guarantee, this position does have the opportunity to convert to full-time employment based on headcount and performance.  Please only apply if you can conver to a full-time employee without sponsorship or condition.  Looking for candidates with experience maintain systems, firewalls, scripting, supporting EMC storage, and middleware/container experience is but not a requirement!

    Responsibilities

    - Interacting with Computers 50%
    - Monitor Processes, Materials or Surroundings 30%
    - Analyzing Data or Information 10%
    - Drafting, Laying Out, and Specifying Technical Devices, Parts, and Equipment 10%

     

    The consolidation of servers from agencies to the State’s data centers, as well as several significant new system implementations, has significantly increased the support required of Linux-based systems architectures.  The increased load requires an additional Systems Architect/Administrator to support the Linux team.  Without an additional Systems Architect/Administrator, STS will not be able to meet the business needs of the Departments.

    Qualifications

     • 800 servers and setting up 300-400 more
    • Satellite Utility tools converting to HP Site Scope (Open View)
    • Using Hitachi and EMC storage, but there is a dedicated SAN team so most of the work will be on VMWare
    • JBOSS / Middleware and Container experience is a plus
    • RHEL Environment

     

    Physical Requirements:

    • Job frequently requires sitting, handling objects with hands.
    • Job occasionally requires standing, walking, reaching, talking, hearing, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
    • Vision requirements:  Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
