    Our client is looking for an LPN in Madison, IN.


    Shifts Available:

    Day: 8:00 AM – 4:15 PM
    Evening: 4:00 PM – 12:15 AM
    Night: 12:00 AM – 8:15 AM

    Employee works under the general supervision and direction of the registered professional nurse in accordance with prescribed policies and procedures and the Indiana Nurse Practice Act.  General purpose is to provide nursing care-both physical and psychosocial-to patients of all ages throughout both Intellectually Disabled and Developmentally Disabled and Adult Specialty Service Lines and to educate patients about the daily care they receive.



    • Participates in or directly provides daily physical care.
    • Carries out all prescribed nursing interventions following ITP.
    • May direct attendants in taking vital signs, charting, standard precautions and other technical nursing skills.
    • Assists and trains patients in daily hygiene, healthcare.
    • Reports and works with nursing team to resolve problems.
    • Consults with and accepts direction from RN.
    • Assists MD with physical exams.
    • Uses learned techniques to work with groups or individuals.
    • Carries out specific programs and patient education cooperatively with other team members.
    • Participates in team meetings as assigned.
    • Implements all activities leading to goals and objectives.
    • Assists RN in developing daily nursing activities.
    • May assign and direct ITP activities to attendants.
    • Deviations from usual physical or psychosocial behavior are monitored and reported.
    • Demonstrates proficiency in phlebotomy.
    • Administers medication according to all policies, procedures and safety practices.
    • Knows reason medication is given, expected effect, and side effects.  Educates each patient on their medications.
    • Provides medication education groups.
    • Follows accepted practices in giving PRN medication.  Reports any medication variances immediately.
    • Follows all safety regulations and precautions.  Documents and reports any known violation or hazard to safety/security.
    • Ensures the use of soft voice and respect for the patient, using empathy, respect, genuineness and concreteness.
    • Verbal intervention based on understanding, using positive constructive choices for the patient, being compassionate, building self-confidence and self-esteem.
    • Expressing concern and caring, inspiring trust and hope, by accepting the patient where and how he is, being sensitive to boundaries and limitations, and the safety and comfort of the patient.
    • Participates in educational activities.  Knowledgeable of all policies/procedures.
    • Accepts responsibility for competency according to Nurse Practice Act.
    • Accepts only those delegated nursing measures for which prepared and qualified.
    • Communicates, collaborates and functions with all other team members to provide safe effective patient care.


    Possession of a valid Indiana licensed practical nurse license issued by the Indiana Health Professions Bureau required (proof of valid license must accompany application); or possession of a valid temporary license issued by the Indiana Health Professions Bureau required (proof of valid license must accompany application); or eligibility to take the National Council of State Boards of Nursing's National Council Licensure Examination - Practical Nurse (NCLEX-PN) for the first time following graduation from an accredited licensed practical nurse program required (proof of eligibility must accompany application).  Special requirement: proof of valid Indiana licensed practical nurse license must be presented to the appointing agency.
