    Knowledge Services is searching for a Quality Assurance Analyst for a long-term, indefinite contract with the State of TN's Dept. of Education.  This position will sit downtown Nashville, TN and work 37.5 hours/week.  This position is not open to C2C.

    Responsibilities

    Understand the data flows, business requirements and expected outcomes of software being developed in house: 20%
    Develop user acceptance focused test plans for each application requiring QA: 50%
    Supervise the execution of test plans and develop processes for communicating, recording and regression testing defects: 20%
    Develop strategies to improve the “maturity” of the QA discipline within the Education agency, including, helping move towards code coverage testing, integration testing, scale & performance testing, and security testing, automated regression testing. 10%
     
    Scope: 
    The Quality Assurance Analyst will develop test plans for application software as part of a software development lifecycle (SDLC).  The test plans will include sub-plans for; User Acceptance Testing (i.e. Exit Criteria), Performance Criteria and Functional Testing. The QA will also work with developers to support the development of a Unit Testing strategy and a Defect Management / Regression Testing strategy.

    Qualifications

    • Understands the typical SDLC in an agile and waterfall environment
    • Familiar and comfortable with contemporary application software testing paradigms, including;
    • Unit testing
    • Functional testing
    • Performance testing
    • User Acceptance testing
    • Understand bug management and regression testing concepts
    • Familiar with at least one popular QA tool such as TFS, LoadRunner or Subversion
    • Has basic understanding of N-Tier and services oriented architecture in a “web” world
    • BONUS:  .Net, Microsoft Azure
     
    MUST HAVE:
    • White box testing (in particular unit testing, this could be with either nUnit or xUnit ).
    • Automation testing (QTP, Selenium, MSTest are all fine)
    • Take automation tests and scaling them for load testing.
    • Normal regression, functional, and UAT testing

     

    Physical Requirements:

    • Job frequently requires sitting, handling objects with hands.
    • Job occasionally requires standing, walking, reaching, talking, hearing, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
    • Vision requirements:  Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
