    Our client is looking for a Radiology Technologist/Radio-logic Tech to work in their Center in West Lafayette, IN.

    This would be a part time position working 2 Saturday's a month from 10AM-6PM and will cover for vacation days.

    Responsibilities

    POSITION SUMMARY:  Serve as a Radiologic Technologist for a Student Health Center. You will perform diagnostic exams, verify patient history/orders, and forward images for dictation/results.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Greet Patients in a professional manner.
    • Explain what studies and testing will be done to the patient and answer any questions the patient may have.
    • Review providers' submitted orders.
    • Obtain medical history and specific instructions as desired by ordering physician.
    • Perform Radiological exams adhering to Health Center policies and procedures. 
    • Ensure correct positioning and placement of patients for established tube height and angulations. 
    • Adjust density, contrast, and detail using correct technical values and penetration per patient size.
    • Follow the Radiation Safety Principle ALARA; all patients are appropriately shielded.
    • Examine images for quality and retake an image if necessary.
    • Transport patients via wheelchair or stretcher, as needed, to other locations within health center. 
    • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving problems involving the PACS, DR's, or other software systems and x-ray equipment.
    • Clean and restock exam rooms
    • Properly chart patients information in electronic charting system.
    • Responsibilities Include: 70% X-ray performance and customer service; 10% Image Submission; 10% Documentation; 10% Miscellaneous.

    Qualifications

    REQUIREMENTS: (Must have at least 1 year of working experience and a certificate or Associates degree)

    • Must have formal radiologic training in an AMA approved school
    • A.R.R.T certified
    • ISDH Diagnostic X-Ray Machine Operator Certificate
    • CPR certified
    • Current with continuing education credits
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills
    • Computer experience required
    • Ability to provide excellent customer service in a stressful situation, maintaining confidentiality at all times. 
    • Strong organizational and problem solving skills
    • Knowledge of DR/PACS radiology software
