    Our client is looking for a Behavioral Health Recovery Attendant in Richmond. This position is a long term, temporary position. This position is a long term temporary position. This job is very similar to that of a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) or Home Health Aid (HHA) but you do not need to be certified

     

    Shifts Available:
    Evening: 2:30PM - 10:45PM

    Responsibilities

    POSITION SUMMARY: This individual will assist with the daily care of mentally ill patients.  You will learn the best practices when working with mentally ill patients and be able to determine best course of action in the instance of an emergency situation. This may include physically aiding patients to modify adverse behaviors.

    The daily duties of this role will be to assist patients with their daily routines of bathing, feeding, dressing, medication administration, laundry and room care. You will also contribute to treatment planning and learn proper documentation protocols to record events/routines. This position is very similar to a CNA or HHA though it does not require a certificate and you will be working inside a hospital. 

    The process and course of care will be determined by the licensed nurse on duty and will be overall supervised by the Unit Director and/or shift supervisor.

    Qualifications

    It would be a plus if this individual has Hospital experience or exposure working in one. Students actively enrolled in a healthcare related field may substitute education for experience working in a hospital. A CNA license is NOT required.

     

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Practical knowledge of routine nursing care procedures such as bathing, bowel and bladder care, feeding, CPR, and first aid techniques
    • Knowledge of training and treatment procedures for working with patients
    • Ability to perform a variety of housekeeping duties to ensure the comfort and well being of patients
    • Ability to accurately document and update patients charts
    • Ability to establish and maintain good interpersonal relationships with residents and staff
    • Ability to follow oral and written directions
    • Ability to act in emergency situations requiring the physical management and protection of patients
    • Must pass pre-employment requirements as well as orientation and basic nursing classes provided by company.
    • Ability to sit, bend, stoop, lift, walk, climb stairs, run short distances, and stand for long periods of time.
    • Experience similar to that of a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) or Home Health Aid (HHA)
