Knowledge Services is seeking an AWS Cloud Engineer for a long term contract with our client, the State of TN's Dept of Human Services. This person will work remote for now but may eventually need to be onsite in Nashville, TN part time after COVID restrictions are lifted.


Post Covid schedule: 80% remote, 20% in-office


  • Perform installation, configuration, and support of tools in an AWS Cloud environment 
  • System administration using Red Hat Linux and Linux Shell scripting  
  • Using DevOps tools that are part of the Atlassian suite such as JIRA, Bamboo, Bitbucket 



  • Ability to perform installation, configuration, and support of tools such as Apache, Tomcat, JBoss, etc. in an AWS Cloud environment
  • Strong system administration experience with Red Hat Linux at the command-line level and Linux Shell scripting skillset
  • Experience with DevOps tools that are part of the Atlassian suite such as JIRA, Bamboo, Bitbucket, etc.
  • Development of custom automation using development languages such as JavaScript or PowerShell
  • Experience working with a Public and Hybrid Cloud environment
  • Evaluate and foster new partner products and solution capabilities within the AWS Cloud environment
  • Assist with delivery readiness, implementation, and architecture of AWS Cloud offerings
  • Knowledge of software development processes and procedures to understand development team needs
  • Familiar with common development practices, Service oriented environments, and Agile practices
  • Generate new or unique solutions and embrace new ideas that help innovation and continuous
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills, and the ability to communicate security and risk-related concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences
  • Exhibit excellent problem solving and analytical skills, the ability to manage multiple projects under strict timelines, as well as the ability to work well in a demanding, dynamic environment and meet overall objectives
