Knowledge Services is actively seeking a Contracts/ Grants Adminsitrator for a 6 month contract (open for extension) with our client, the State of TN's Office of Criminal Justice Programs (OCJP). This person can work mostly remote but must be able to come downtown Nashville, TN on occasion. Local candidates required.
Overview of Position:
The OCJP manages a systematic, year-round cycle for tracking problems surfacing in the criminal justice system, monitoring trends in Tennessee’s communities, assessing the condition of the state’s resources, setting program priorities, making grant allocation decisions, managing those funded projects and measuring the performance of, and evaluating the results of those decisions. The team’s strategic program management process looks several years ahead of daily grants management activities at the changing needs of Tennessee’s justice system to effectively plan to address Tennessee’s needs, often through innovative projects.
In response to COVID-19, OCJP has received additional Federal (approximately $14 million in total) Coronavirus Emergency Funding (CESF), and FVPSA funding to help with the current crisis that the nation is facing. This is in addition to the more than $65,000,000 in state and federal funding this Office has obligated in FY 2021.
This position is essential for OCJP to be able to continue to provide funding opportunities that support public safety and public welfare, respond to the needs of vulnerable crime victims and increase the safety and wellbeing of Tennesseans.
As a result of this increased funding, OCJP will increase its number of contracts between 300-400 in FY 2021 and into FY 2022. OCJP’s current Program staff cannot oversee this increased number of contracts without additional staff.
This position is mission critical to this Office for support and to allow existing staff to focus on the Office’s primary function including strategic planning for funding, developing solicitations, completing the application and contracting process, engage in training and TA with the subrecipient, review all programmatic reports for accuracy and send back for revisions when required, and programmatically monitoring subrecipients.
