Knowledge Services is actively seeking a Network Operations Center (NOC) technician for a 9 month contract (open for extension) with our client, the State of TN's Strategic Technology Solutions Department. This person can work remotely but will need to live in the greater Nashville, TN area as you will need to come onsite for occasional meetings/ training.


Position overview:

The Network Operations and Security Center (NOSC) within STS Customer Care Center at the State of TN is a 7x24x365 environment supports the State’s network infrastructure and enterprise systems, including the continuous monitoring of all services and ensuring that every reasonable effort is made to restore service as quickly as possible in the event of an outage. This position is alert driven using a master console to manage issues as they come in.  Person has to be able to understand the structure of the team and can solve the issue and communicate to that team, vendor, etc.  Majority of the work will be IP telephony (CISCO) and being able to config & program remotely.  Security understanding to be able to monitor spam abuse and what is the appropriate action to take for resolution.


• Provide Tier 1 troubleshooting of network and systems issues
• Manage the Critical Incident process 
• Manage the Virus remediation process
• Provisions and supports IP Telephones
• Provide IT phone support to customers during peak times and after hours



  • CISCO - IP telephony/switches - routers
  • NOC experience
  • Call Center environment understanding great communication/troubleshooting skills


Other qualifications: 

  • Working knowledge of:
    • Large network infrastructures and troubleshooting
    • IP Telephony provisioning
    • Virus remediation
    • IT Technical phone support
    • Active Directory
  • High level of attention to details
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Excellent organizational skills required



Physical Requirements:

  • Job frequently requires sitting, handling objects with hands.
  • Job occasionally requires standing, walking, reaching, talking, hearing, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
  • Vision requirements:  Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
