Resource Coordinator - Public Health & Safety

The Re-Entry Resource Coordinator will participate in the City’s efforts to link individuals reentering society to various resources and community organizations across Indianapolis. This position coordinates with re-entry grant awards and community partners concerning community events and ensuring grant management requirements are met. The Re-Entry Resource Coordinator provides direct services to at-risk individuals reentering society, including, but not limited to, housing, and food equity.

This is a long term contract position

Pay rate is $19.42

This position is weeknights from 10:30 PM till 6:30 AM. Weekends and holiday's the hours would be both day and night shifts

 1 - 2 nights during the week and 16 – 24 hours on the weekends (8 -12 hour shifts) both day and night hours.

Hours will be 34-39 hour per week.

• Staff the reentry resource area located at the City’s Community Justice Campus (CJC), including overnight hours, weekends, and holidays. This responsibility will include creating and maintaining proper records of resources provided to participants, including creation and maintenance of case notes, and coordinating rides.
• Coordinate with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD), OPHS, the Marion County Sheriff’s Department to provide resources and programming aimed at reducing recidivism among re-entrants.
• Meet regularly with OPHS Re-Entry team in Quarterly and bi-weekly update
• In conjunction with staffing the reentry resource area at the CJC, the position holder will be expected to engage in effective communication, creative problem-solving, and energetic engagement.
• The Reentry Resource Coordinator will spend time during release to connect re-entrants with the best resources conducive to their successful re-acclimating into society.

Requirements:

• High School
• Strong public communications
• Willingness to navigate in challenging spaces and conversations
• Administrative and organizational skills for data entry and creating case notes

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associates degree 
• Speaking or writing proficiency in at least one non-English language
• Prior experience with criminal justice, law enforcement, or non-law enforcement violence reduction.
• Prior experience in state or local government
• Knowledge of the dynamics of the city’s reentry barriers
• Experience with records management and grants management
