Knowledge Services is actively seeking an Assistant Vice President of Enterprise Risk Management for a full time, direct hire opportunity with our client based in Indianapolis, IN. This person will need to work onsite for the first few months to meet staff members and learn organization culture and then can move to a hybrid role.
Travel: This position will require in-state travel up to 20% of the time.
Job Overview:
Reporting to the Vice President of Public Safety & Emergency Preparedness, the Assistant Vice President of Enterprise Risk Management (AVP-ERM) designs and implements a framework for enterprise risk management. In addition to providing oversight of risk management and insurance programs, the AVP-ERM will work with the Executive Leadership Team and with the Governing Board through its Audit Committee to establish tolerance and appetite for risk in a variety of areas, including administrative actions, student activities and academic programming. This role operates under a Matrix structure. The AVP-ERM is a strategic partner for departments across the organization to come alongside and support through any situations requiring Campuses and units to manage risk and the opportunity it engenders. The AVP-ERM will provide effective leadership and administration for day-to-day operations.
The AVP-ERM will lead the risk financing/insurance programs by developing key initiatives and setting insurance renewal strategies for the statewide risk management function for the College through review and evaluation of emerging markets, trends, best practices, threat assessments, needs analysis and appetite for risk. The AVP-ERM will oversee all aspects of Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), and will support Emergency Preparedness with programs, procedures and best practices for risk mitigation activities, as applicable.

SUPERVISION GIVEN: Executive Director of Risk Management & Insurance, and Director of Environmental Health & Safety
Master’s degree and Associate in Risk Management (ARM) certification is preferred
Experience in a post-secondary educational environment is preferred
