Inventory Control Manager (full time, direct hire)

Knowledge Services is actively seeking an Inventory Control Manager for a full time, direct hire opportunity with our client based in Indianapolis, IN. This person will need to work onsite. 

The Inventory Control Manager leads a team of Inventory Control Analysts, with the responsibility of ensuring the accuracy of warehouse and plant inventory balances. This position will perform in-depth analysis of Operations inventory to provide both tactical and strategic direction on how to meet the goals of the organization for cash management. Managing inventory more efficiently to hit target levels of perpetual, WIP, FG, and obsolete and slow moving inventory as well as velocity projects to increase inventory turns while not affecting service levels negatively.

Management and maintenance of the cycle count process per standard work, including, but not limited to: selection of parts to be counted, cycle count method and technique, reconciliation of counts to perpetual records, root cause analysis for errors, process change requests to reach 95%+ Perfect Location Accuracy.

• Maintain cycle count standard work goals with the long term objective of achieving cycle count certification
• Establishes targets for each inventory business segment and determine/monitor actions to achieve targets.
• Maintain and issue inventory reporting, including inventory accuracy, cycle count metrics and scrap processing
• Drives inventory level improvements through the implementation of projects with cross functional teams in sourcing, materials, and production.
• Utilization of project management skills to implement lean management efforts to increase velocity and minimize inventory levels.
• Deploys lean techniques and other inventory management tasks such as: segmentation, stratification, ABC, inventory modeling, use of pareto analysis, statistical SS analysis, and other item master settings such as MOQ, order period, etc.
• Work with sourcing and materials to drives performance in supply base to to reduce inventory and increase turns.
• Creates/establishes and owns/operates the action plans, countermeasures, and other critical inventory reports.
• Works to develop a warehousing strategy to increase picking efficiencies, storage locations, and warehouse rationalization
• Recommends improvements to reduce cost and drive productivity within the department while achieving site specific goals.
• Maintains inventory and product loss control, coordinates timely and accurate movement and ensures safety/operational guidelines are met.
• Drive and participate in continuous improvement activities for all functional areas of the business

• BA / BS degree in Supply Chain or similar field required
• MUST HAVE: 5-10 years of experience required (Supply Chain)
• Experience with balancing inventory investment and procurement costs against customer service levels to insure we maintain the highest customer satisfaction levels with a minimum asset investment. This must be accomplished through a good understanding of purchasing and forecasting strategies combined with a strong project management skill set.
• Experience using data analysis and excellent processes to help predict problem areas and identify areas of opportunity. Superior analytical skills
• High level proficiency in Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, etc.)
• Strong written, oral communication, and presentation skills
