Overview

We are seeking a LPN Licensed Practical Nurse in Greenwood Indiana!  This is a direct hire opportunity!

Responsibilities

Provides professional nursing care under supervision for clinic patients.

DUTIES PERFORMED:

Performs general nursing care to patients. Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards

Assists with the preparation of equipment and aids physician during treatment, examination, and testing of patients

Observes, records, and reports patient’s condition and reaction to drugs and treatments to physicians. Administers prescribed medications as directed

Oversees appointment bookings and ensures preferences are given to patients in emergency situations. Maintains timely flow of patients.

Greets patients and prepares them for physician examination. Screens patients for appropriate information. 

Arranges for patient testing and admissions. Schedules appointments and obtains referral (if needed) with specialist offices

Responds to and refers incoming telephone calls.  Instructs patient and family regarding medications and treatment instructions

Formulates and updates patient care plans. Orders, prepares, and inspects patient’s charts

Responsible for preparation of exam rooms including cleaning and re- stocking of treatment areas

Calls pharmacies to authorize prescription refills, Obtain a PA if one is needed for a medication

Attends required monthly staff meetings and participates in committees as needed

 

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

  1. High School Diploma or GED
  2. Graduation from an accredited school of practical nursing
  3. Valid state license to practical nursing
  4. Current and updated CPR certification

Knowledge of medications and their effects on patients

Knowledge of patient education principles to develop a self-care program

Skill in administering a variety of examination and treatment procedures. Skill in taking vital signs.

Knowledge of examination, diagnostic, and treatment room procedures

Knowledge of HIPAA and adheres to confidentiality guidelines of the documents that will be handled.

Excellent organization skills and attention to detail

Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment

Ability to understand and effectively work in Microsoft Office
