Overview

We are seeking a Transportation Driver in Winchester Indiana!

 

M-F 8:00 - 5:00

Responsibilities

This position is responsible for operating agency van(s) for the purpose of transporting residents in a safe manner from one location to another.  This transportation may include medical, counseling, employment, and other types of appointments.  This position monitors the condition of the van upon each trip and is responsible for keeping the agency vehicles clean, maintaining vehicle maintenance schedules, safety inspections and mileage logs.  This position is also responsible for monitoring the activities of residents for compliance with program rules while maintaining positive working relationships and interactions with residents and other agencies.

 

  1. Transportation
  2. Transports residents from facility to scheduled appointments or to other approved appointments. The transportation of resident’s belongings or other material may be required.   
  3.  Assists any disabled resident into and out of the vehicle.
  4. Reviews resident transportation schedule and changes daily.
  5. Aids in pickup and delivery of facility supplies as needed.
  1. Vehicle Maintenance
  2. Inspects interior and exterior of vehicle before and after schedule shift for safety, contraband, and damage; report findings to Assistant Program Director.
  3. Inspects interior of vehicle and resident’s packages for contraband after each resident trip.
  4. Removes waste and other trash from vehicle(s) and insures the interior/exterior cleanliness of vehicle(s).
  5. Checks and if necessary, replenishes vehicle fluid levels.
  6. Immediately reports any maintenance or mechanical problems.
  7. Reports and as needed, schedules routine maintenance tasks for vehicle(s).
  8. Secures vehicle(s) upon ending of shift and ensures secure storage of key(s).
  1. Resident Monitoring and Security
  2. Monitors and observes resident activities to ensure compliance with program policies and procedures.
  3. Check all bags and receives for appropriate purchased or received items prior to resident re-entering the facility.
  4. Assists with specific Resident Supervisor duties during unassigned transportation periods.
  5. Chaperon residents at outside locations/businesses as directed.  

 Documentation and Record Maintenance

  1. Completes Vehicle Mileage Log sheet on a daily and per trip basis.
  2. Completes safety inspections and safety log daily.
  3. Completes incident/accident/injury report when needed.
  4. Records any problems behaviors of residents and reports such to supervisor and/or designated staff.

     

Qualifications

Must have a valid driver's license

High School Diploma/GED

Must be insurable

 

$16.00 - $18.00 per hour based on experience
