Quality Engineer (Onsite)

Knowledge Services is actively hiring a Manufacturing Quality Engineer for a direct hire/onsite position in Princeton, IL.  Ideally looking for candidates with background in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Machinist.

• Lead problem solving, root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action for process related concerns using statistical tools.
• Lead and participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance the quality system, such as 5S, Rapid Improvement Events, Six Sigma, lean methodology, etc.
• Develop and provide training to build quality awareness.
• Assist in establishing, implementing and maintaining the quality management system.
• Create and maintain company quality documentation, such as quality manuals, quality procedures, etc.
• Interface with suppliers, engineering, and operations to provide feedback and data for products and processes.
• Lead and support the quality technicians to ensure that our products and processes comply with the relevant requirements of the quality management system.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing audit strategies for processes, products and systems.
• Responsible for issuing, tracking and verifying root cause solutions of corrective actions.
• Assist in vendor surveillance of purchased materials, finished parts and processes.
• Determine inspection and test equipment required to evaluate product quality and reliability.
• Lead and manage projects to improve cost and quality of manufacturing processes, products and purchased components.

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical field.
• Trade school with machinist experience
• 1+ years quality and engineering or related experience in a manufacturing environment.
• ASQ Certified Quality Engineer Certification preferred.
• Sound engineering and leadership skills.
• Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, ISO or related experience preferred.
• Strong math and analytical skills.
• Strong organization and attention to detail skills along with the ability to handle multiple projects at once.
• Strong written and oral communication skills with ability to build strong and sustainable relationships.
• Skilled in team building and experience in effectively working with cross-functional teams.
• Understanding of applicable computer systems, such as Microsoft Office and function specific software.
