Overview

Knowledge Services is seeking both part time and full time Recovery Specialists for our client in Evansville, IN.   The Recovery Specialist is an active part of the treatment team.  The Recovery Specialist monitors and documents client behaviors and interactions while providing structure and support, and role modeling to clients.   

 

Pay rate:  $16/hr-Contract to hire opportunity

Shifts available:

  • First shift full time - Saturday-Wednesday 7 am to 3:30 pm
  • First shift part time - Sunday, Monday, Thursday, Friday 7 am to 3:30 pm
  • Second shift part time - Sunday through Wednesday 3 pm to 11:30 pm

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide basic case management and community resource connection support to clients. While ensuring that the client environment is one that is therapeutic and promotes healthy recovery from addiction.
  • Facilitate group skill training to clients
  • Provide 1-on-1 interventions with clients and complete supporting documentation
  • Maintain DCS and legally mandated child abuse and neglect reporting standards.
  • Maintain chronological written records of events that occur during the shift.
  • Transport clients as needed in company approved vehicles
  • Complete and maintain client intake information and procedures.
  • Monitor or observe residents self-administer medication.
  • Control contraband in facility through general observation and room searches.
  • Ensure facility cleanliness and monitor dormitory detail rosters.
  • Maintain inventory and assure appropriate use of building cleaning/ maintenance equipment and supplies by clients.
  • Conduct periodic tours of the facility and its grounds to maintain safety and security
  • Assist in training and onboarding new team members
  • Light Cleaning
  • Monitor entrance to facility and answer telephones. Monitor visitor activities.
  • Conduct oneself as a role model for residents, including providing direction in their daily routine and giving children positive reinforcement as needed.
  • Administer and document breathalyzer tests, urine screens, and searches to clients as needed.

Qualifications

  • The position requires a minimum of a high school diploma.  Knowledge and proficiency in issues related to addiction, recovery and mental health.
  • CSR/Certified Recovery Specialist or CHW/Certified Healthcare Worker or RC/Recovery Coach certification required or completion of certification within one year of employment.
  • Ability to operate in a trauma-informed manner with clients and staff. Ensure that client environment is one that is therapeutic and promotes healthy recovery from addiction.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of cultural competence in order to be effective with clients and operate successfully within a diverse team. Proficiency in issues related to addiction and recovery. Ability to utilize effective de-escalation techniques with both mothers and children in group and individual settings. Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team setting and exhibit good interpersonal skills.
  • Certification in first aid and CPR preferred.
  • Social Services background is a plus
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and abilities and be able to communicate appropriately and effectively in sensitive and/or demanding situations.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to professionally represent the client, and effectively interact with multi-cultural and diverse populations.
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license.
