Healthcare Accountant/Billing Specialist

Knowledge Services is seeking a Healthcare Accountant/Billing Specialist for one of our clients located in Carmel, IN.

In this role you will contribute to the day-to-day and monthly accounting as a member of the company’s team. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working in healthcare and be ready to take on any challenge, contribute and help the team meet deadlines while growing their knowledge of accounting and the business.

• Ability to perform accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations and other account reconciliations, journal entries (e.g., accrued, recurring), payroll weekly reports, general ledger, financial analysis, account reconciliations, month end close.
• Tracks all payments and outstanding bills.
• Maximize the collection of medical services payments and reimbursements from patients, insurance carriers, and other sources of payment.
• Pro-actively identify, communicate, and establish processes to mitigate any risks to the revenue cycle process.
• Maintains historical records.
• Prepares account analysis and produces monthly reports.
• Continues to improve the department’s payment processes.

• Associates Degree in Accounting or related area of study preferred
• Prior accounting experience in healthcare required
• 1-3 years experience in bookkeeping and/or accounts payable related field required
• A minimum of 1 year of experience and knowledge of QuickBooks required
• Fundamental and working knowledge of accounting concepts required
