Overview

Knowledge Services is actively seeking a Financial Controller for a full time, direct hire opportunity with our client in Atlanta, IN. This person will need to work onsite M-F.

 

This position is responsible for leading the accounting team through providing accurate and timely financial analysis, financial reporting, investment analysis, and risk management.  This position is authorized to view all financial, production, processing, sales, payroll records and most administrative information.

Responsibilities

  • Support an environment of growth, development, and flexibility for the accounting team to support growing and dynamic business needs.
  • Coordinate accounting operations to support all stakeholders including FP&A, bank reporting, annual audit, and monthly internal reporting.
  • Analyze financial statements of the corporation to identify improvement opportunities or highlight efficiencies.
  • Understand & communicate variances from projection financial results of company.
  • Ensure changes in generally accepted accounting principles are understood and necessary changes are made as approved.
  • Assist in due diligence and reporting of potential business segments or acquisitions.
  • Evaluate impact of and implement tax planning strategies.
  • Internal support and communication of financial reports.
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of accounting activities.
  • Support external auditors during year-end financial statement.
  • Manage month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state and local governmental statutes and regulations.
  • Develop, calculate and maintain all financial covenant reporting.
  • Develop internal forms and reports to streamline accounting processes.
  • Provide guidance to accounting department staff and other staff on financial topics.
  • Perform other duties as may be requested by the Director of Finance.

Qualifications

1.   Education and training:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting.
  • Certified Public Accountant, MBA, or equivalent is preferred.

2.    Technical Skills/Knowledge:

  • Competency with computer-based accounting software, spreadsheets, database, and word processing applications.
  • Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

3.    Experience:

  • Minimum of seven (7) years accounting experience in public or corporate accounting.
  • Experience working in Accounting for a large company of 500+ employees and / or $100 million+ in annual revenue
  • Proven track record of effective accounting team leadership.
