Data Analyst (Downtown Indy)

Knowledge Services is seeking a Data Analyst for a 6-month contract opportunity. This person will be required to work on-site at our client's office, located on the southwest side of Indianapolis.  

• Monday-Friday, 8am - 4:30pm EST
• $17/hour plus retention bonus of $300  
• Knowledge Services offers medical, dental, vision and voluntary life insurance 
• Tax law knowledge is not required, and training will be provided.

A Tax/Data Analyst performs a variety of tax processing and public assistance duties relative to the payment and collection of various state taxes.

• Completes compliance examinations on various Department of Revenue tax returns and State information, Federal tax returns, and other related systems to assure accuracy of State tax returns
• Provides customer service and assistance to taxpayers by advising, instructing, and furnishing information 
• Interprets and applies State and Federal tax laws, rules, regulations and other legal resources in identifying and resolving technical tax problems. 
• Create new/additional tax liabilities for taxes due
• Analyzes tax data to determine the validity and accuracy of amended tax returns for various tax types
• Training program provided for data processing system and procedures for individual income tax return processing.

• High School diploma or GED
• High attention to detail
• Ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing 
• Must have experience with MS Office
