Overview

Knowledge Services is seeking a remote Database Developer for a remote contract through the end of June 2026 (potential for extension) with the State of Maine. 

  • Applicants are able to work 100% remotely

Responsibilities

The Database Developer Responsibilities include:

The Datawarehouse team is looking for an individual to assist in meeting the timeline of the existing PRISM and OMS ReFRAME projects, while supporting agency users with the current production environments. Resources will provide continued support after projects go-live.

• Prepares detailed design specifications for highly complex and large-scale systems in order to plan and facilitate system development and programming.
• Maintains assigned systems, responding to and resolving system problems in order to ensure systems are continuously available and function properly.
• Develops systems employing higher level languages such as 3 GL’s, 4 GL’s, enterprise class application development tools, system utilities, and project management tools in order to prepare systems for implementation.
• Diagnoses and isolates complex application software problems; formulates and implements effective solutions considering system capacity, limitations, time requirements, and desired results in order to resolve system problems and prevent reoccurrence.
• Designs and develops subroutines in support of system development efforts in order to achieve maximum productivity.
• Performs difficult, complex, and specialized programming assignments in order to ensure users and business needs are met.

• Seeking Programmers who are not theoretical, but Logic Based, willing to do deep dive into the code to improve the application.

• The ability to switch between multiple priorities while maintaining momentum on current work.
• Customer focused approach when working with other teams and business contacts
• Familiar with a shared team development environment, including the ability to perform tasks for all aspects of the SDLC.

Qualifications

Database Developer Required Skills:

• Must have at least 5+ years of experience with T-SQL and PL/SQL

• Data Warehouse experience

• Review & Convert Coding

 

Preferred:

• Prior experience in federal, state, or local government highly preferred

• Ability to complete work in an Oracle Cloud environment.
• Knowledge and application of Data Warehouse design and development principles

• Data warehouse Star Schema experience
• Understanding Kimball method and how it is applied
