Overview

Knowledge Services is seeking a remote DevOps Engineer for a long-term contract.   

  • This role will be able to work 100% remotely working 9-5 EST.
  • Please note that we cannot consider any third-party candidates, those requiring C2C, or anyone requiring sponsorship for a work visa.

Responsibilities

DevOps Engineer Responsibilities:

• The DevOps Engineer plays a vital role in streamlining the infrastructure administration, product development and delivery processes.
• This position involves managing and automating workflows, ensuring efficient, continuous integration, and deployment.
• The role requires expertise in cloud services, infrastructure management, and script automation to maintain system reliability and performance.
• Collaboration with development and operations teams is key to optimizing the software development lifecycle.
• The DevOps Engineer must be proactive in identifying and implementing improvements in deployment routines and system monitoring.
• Strong problem-solving skills are essential to address and resolve any deployment or infrastructure issues.
• The position demands continuous learning to stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in DevOps.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated code deployment.
• Manage cloud-based infrastructure and services to ensure high availability and scalability.
• Implement automation scripts to streamline development and operational processes.
• Monitor system performance, proactively identify issues, and implement solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance the software development lifecycle.
• Ensure adherence to security protocols and compliance standards in deployment processes.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices in DevOps.

Qualifications

DevOps Engineer Requirements:

• Proven experience in DevOps, with a strong background in CI/CD, automation, and cloud services.
• Proficiency in scripting languages and automation tools (e.g., Python, Bash, Ansible).
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong understanding of infrastructure management, system monitoring, and security best practices.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Relevant certifications in DevOps, cloud computing, or system administration are advantageous.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

• Expert in designing and implementing robust CI/CD pipelines, driving automation and efficiency.
• Leads cloud architecture initiatives, optimizing for performance, cost, and security.
• Champions the integration of new technologies and tools to enhance DevOps processes.
• Oversees system monitoring and incident management, ensuring quick resolution and minimal impact.
• Mentors DevOps engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
• Plays a key role in strategic decision-making, aligning DevOps practices with business objectives.

 

Preferred Certifications would be a plus:
• Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
• Puppet Certified Professional
• Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert
• AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional
• Docker Certified Associate (DCA)
• Red Hat Certified Specialist in Ansible Automation
