Associate Director of Accounting

Knowledge Services is actively seeking an Associate Director of Accounting for a 3-month contract (potential to extend) with the NCAA in Indianapolis, IN.

• This is a hybrid work schedule working 3 days onsite each week in downtown Indianapolis 
• Applicants must be able to interview in person

Associate Director of Accounting Responsibilities:

• Responsible for overseeing Accounts Receivable, Cash, Investments, Membership Financial Reporting, Revenue Distribution, and Grants and Scholarships.

• Manage Accounts Receivable, Cash, Investments, and Championship Accounting functions.
• Assist in management of close activities, including performing and reviewing reconciliations, and providing guidance on financial reporting.
• Assist in leading year-end closing and preparation for annual financial statement audit.

• Prepare and review audit schedules.

• Assist in preparation of consolidated financial statements and footnotes.

• Work with external accounting firm to answer questions, perform follow-up, etc.
• Assist in preparation of the Form 990 and other required tax filings.
• Staff liaison for our banking and investment relationships.
• Staff liaison for the Board of Governors Investment Subcommittee.
• Administer approximately $600 million revenue distribution program to association membership.
• Administer various grant and scholarship programs.
• Administer formal and informal performance-related feedback to staff.
• Special projects as assigned.

Associate Director of Accounting Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting and a certified public accounting (CPA) license.
• Five to seven years of experience in accounting. (Oracle big plus)
• Management experience is preferred.
• Must have the ability to communicate effectively (both verbally and in writing)
• Good organizational skills. Strong Excel
• Financial reporting experience.
• Public accounting (audit) experience is strongly preferred.
