Knowledge Services is seeking an Administrative Assistant for a 6-month contract through the end of March 2026 (potential for extension) with Purdue University.
Administrative Assistant Responsibilities:
• This individual will be providing administrative support to the Director of Graduate Studies and Director of Undergraduate Studies, and as needed support to the Lead Administrative Assistant.
• This position will be assuming primary responsibility for updating and maintaining the department website and associated webpages utilizing Purdue-specific platforms such as Concur, Slate, and Cascade.
• This position will also assume primary responsibility for assisting with annual and ongoing department events, including the Literary Awards, Woodman Lecture, and visiting Writer Series by assisting in coordinating guest speakers, and making phone calls, etc.
Administrative Assistant Required Skills:
• Must have a High School Diploma/GED (Education Verification will be run)
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in an administrative support role
Preferred Skills:
• Experience working with general office software (Word, Excel, Adobe) required; experience with Purdue-specific platforms such as Concur, Slate, and Cascade preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to handle frequent interruptions, balance multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality.
• Strong organizational and time management skills and attention to detail.
• Advanced computer and software skills to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, internet, et al.
• Ability to collaborate and communicate with individuals at all levels within and external to the university to support department needs.
• Ability to interpret policies and procedures to proactively resolve issues or improve processes.
• Ability to identify problems and implement or recommend solutions.
• Drafting, proofreading, and editing skills.
