Technical Writer 2

Knowledge Services is seeking a Technical Writer for a contract through April 2026 with the State of Maine BMV in Augusta, ME.

• Work Location: This person will need to be able to work 100% onsite in Augusta, ME.
• We are unable to consider any candidates requiring C2C or sponsorship for a work visa.

Technical Writer Responsibilities:

• The Maine Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) is seeking assistance in capturing system documentation to ensure staff training can be accomplished before the implementation date.

• Specifically, the BMV business technical writer will be asked to produce two items:
• An operator’s manual that describes basic operation of the system, to include connectivity with external systems
• Training materials for supervisors to use while training existing and new staff on the modernized licensing system

• All work will be completed using Microsoft products.

Technical Writer Required Skills:

• 3+ years of experience as a Technical Writer

• Experience with Digital Presentations

• Experience with Employee Training

Nice to have:

• Experience with Operation Manual Creation – External Systems

• Training Materials

• Prior experience with State government
