Overview

Knowledge Services is seeking a remote Data Governance Training, Adoption & Literacy Coordinator for a 12-month project (potential for extension) in support of the State of North Dakota.  

  • Local hybrid candidates are preferred, but remote applicants will be considered
  • For remote workers, occasional travel expenses would be covered by the state (potentially quarterly).
  • Please note that we cannot accept any candidates requiring C2C or those requiring sponsorship for a work visa

Responsibilities

Data Governance Training, Adoption & Literacy Coordinator Overview:

The Data Governance Adoption and Literacy Coordinator will establish a functional Data Governance literacy and adoption model by developing role-based competencies, steward onboarding standards, training materials, communications coordination, governance curriculum and practical guidance aligned to the enterprise data strategy.

This role will also work with North Dakota Information Technology (NDIT) to ensure alignment with statewide data governance efforts, policies, standards, etc.

• Define role-based Data Governance competencies for owners, stewards, analysts, business users.
• Develop the HHS DG literacy framework aligned to enterprise data strategy.
• Establish certification/onboarding standards and practical guidance for data stewards.
• Design a governance capability roadmap across divisions.
• Coordinate with communications and change management teams on DG awareness and adoption.
• Develop tool proficiency guidance for glossary, metadata, standards and governance platform usage.

Qualifications

Data Governance Training, Adoption & Literacy Coordinator Required Skills:

• 5+ years in Data Governance, data management, training, change enablement, or enterprise program adoption.
• Experience with Data Governance trainings, workshops, and the like.
• Experience developing governance onboarding, steward models, or literacy frameworks.
• Strong writing, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to develop clear training, onboarding, and literacy materials.
• Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.

 

Preferred skills:
• Experience with Health and Human Services, public sector, or large enterprise environments.
• Experience developing data literacy, stewardship, governance, onboarding, or change enablement materials.
• Familiarity with business glossaries, metadata, data standards, reporting, dashboards, or governance platforms.
