Knowledge Services is hiring a senior Rhapsody Developer for a 1 year contract with our client, the State of Maine, in downtown Augusta.

This team is rapidly expanding, and needs additional staff to keep up with the demands including the everyday needs of staff, in addition to other objectives. Currently, the team has three dedicated individuals who all specialize in one or more aspects of the program. 

  • Build data extracts for NBS (NEDSS Based System) page builder pages
  • Assisting with troubleshooting and support for NBS applications
  • Assisting with Rhapsody route descriptions and notes that will assist in troubleshooting when issues arise.
  • The team also performs surveillance.  



  • Orion Rhapsody - troubleshooting and rebuilding routes to increase efficiency.
  • NBS support backup - application availability, data flows, nightly ETL process, problem identification and resolution.
  • EMS file process - Develop the data process and implementation for the NEMSIS 3.4 XML messages utilizing the current schematron. 
  • Works with the vendor to implement a solution; great communication & organizational skills a must.
  • Syndromic HL7 data quality measurement and improvement - works with hospitals to improve the content and quality of their syndromic HL7 messages.
  • ESSENCE - implementation and support of a new syndromic surveillance system
  • Advanced: Windows 7; MS SQL
  • Intermediate: Windows Server 2012; Orion Rhapsody; Java and Java Script; HL7 Processing; MS SQL Server 2012



  • Support of web based data collection applications in the government setting, ETL processing, HL7 messaging, new application implementation.
